WIlkie Book Cover

Sometimes, it sort of just falls together… quickly.
Other times, it just fails together.

This was a cover for a fellow cohort’s book of family stories that have been passed down through the ages. The main story teller, Earl Wilkie was a Baptist pastor down in Arkansas somewhere. I tried to give it a CrackerBarrel style because I like to eat there and the decor is antiquated and that’s what I think of when I am designing in the retro mode.

...if you could replace “Earl Wilkie’s” with “Camp Calvary” and then replace the “Owen Wilke” with “The Brothers Jones”... then you’d have ya a book…

This was an exact 15-minute job… really. Since it was a non-paying endeavor, I cranked it. Picked and pulled elements and mixed it all together like a Jambalaya graphics casserole.
