Hot Chicks!
With the S-L-O-W-I-N-G economy grinding to a halt, Brother Jones is proud to announce its latest venture into that lucrative, labor-intensive market known as chicken farming!
Four chickens were put into the cardboard coop yesterday and the prospects of farm fresh eggs are in the near future. What lies between this initial bird purchase and those tasty eggs is simply a matter of water, feed, TLC, and varmint protection.
I give them 10 days…
I asked the young sales girl (who was raising over 200 chickens) at our local farm supply what it took to raise chickens … she looked at me with a blank, emotionless face and said, “common sense.” Well, that rules me out… As we headed out the door, she murmured, “Good luck with them chickens…”
All I have to say is these chicks better produce or else… Not that I’m putting pressure on them or anything.

...if those chicks produce any eggs they’re going to be mighty tiny…

...you know, I didn’t like that song much when it first came out, but now that it’s been a few years and I listen to it again, I like it even less…

I’m imagining those four little peeps in a tasty batter all fried up as chicken tenders…

...the chicks will no doubt be named, become pets, and then one fine Sunday afternoon when the family is enjoying a fried chicken dinner the kids will find out it is actually Pippy The Chicken they are eating and severe trauma will ensue…
